The Williamsburg Winery is less than ten minutes from Williamsburg’s historical attractions and is Virginia’s largest winery. Founded in 1985, the winery is set among 50+ beautiful acres of vineyards and offers tours and tastings daily throughout the year. Although Virginia boasts nearly 100 wineries, a quarter of all wine produced in the state comes from Williamsburg.
The Williamsburg Winery and its vintages are highly awarded having been named among “The Best Wines in the World” by the Decanter World Wine Awards of London. The most popular wine, “The Governor’s White” was awarded a Gold Medal within two weeks of its release in 1988. Adding to their uniqueness and paying homage to the area’s rich history, most of the wines made at the Williamsburg Winery feature historical references on the back of each bottle.
During your visit, stop for lunch in the Gabriel Archer Tavern. Winner of numerous culinary awards, you will enjoy a deliscious gourmet lunch complimented by a unique pairing with on of our vintages.
