Yankee Candle Williamsburg
The Yankee Candle Flagship Store may be one of the most surprisingly delightful attractions in Williamsburg! One of only two Flagship Stores in the country, inside you will find a complete Yankee Candle Village that appeals to the senses with fun for the entire family.
In the tradition that Yankee is known for, you’ll find the world’s largest selection of Yankee Candles—including new scents as well as hard to find and discontinued specialties.
If you don’t want to purchase one of the candles on display, spend a few minutes and make your own. You (or more likely your kids) have two options when it comes to candle making. First, you can purchase a jar to fill with a selection of colored waxes and scents of your choice, or select a wax mold and spend time dipping it in your choice of dyes to create a unique color combination that is the perfect souvenir.
While playing in the candle area, kids get a kick out of creating wax molds. Choose to preserve little hands as a mold to cherish for years to come, a perfect gift for grandma when you arrive home.
Beyond wax and candles, the Yankee Candle Village also features a series of other shops, including a candy store and homemade fudge shop, a home store with unique home décor including frames, tableware and garden accents, and a boutique with the area’s largest selection of Vera Bradley handbags.
Yankee Candle Christmas Village
The Christmas Village is the highlight of the store with a complete area dedicated to twinkling lights and awe-inspiring décor, complete with live snow every ten minutes. Trees tower overhead, each decorated with unique ornaments available for purchase (and even personalization) there in the store. A complete selection of Department 56 houses is also available as well as other collectible scenes and nativities.
In addition to the toy store that adjoins the Christmas Village, Yankee Candle Williamsburg also hosts a series of special events just for kids. October features the Fall Festival, with hayrides and pumpkin decorating, and in early November Santa arrives at the Village by horse-drawn carriage in the ultimate show of grandeur. Throughout the holiday season, there are special events like the Gingerbread Man Luncheons and dinner with Mrs. Claus.
No matter what you think you know about Yankee Candle—or even if you don’t care for scented candles—this is one Williamsburg shop not to be missed.
